JURNALISTA.ID – Maros, Sulawesi Selatan, menghadapi tantangan serius akibat bencana kekeringan yang semakin meluas. Data terbaru dari Badan Penanggulangan Bencana Daerah (BPBD) Maros menunjukkan bahwa jumlah kecamatan yang terdampak telah bertambah signifikan, dari sebelumnya enam menjadi sembilan kecamatan.
Menurut Kepala BPBD Maros, Towadeng, dampak terparah dirasakan di Kecamatan Bontoa. Selain itu, kekeringan juga telah merambah ke kecamatan-kecamatan lain, termasuk Maros Baru, Lau, Marusu, Tanralili, Mandai, Moncongloe, Simbang, dan Bantimurung.Untuk meringankan beban masyarakat, BPBD Maros telah mengambil langkah cepat dengan mendistribusikan air bersih.
Hingga saat ini, sebanyak 140 tangki air telah disalurkan, dengan total volume mencapai 700.000 liter. Setiap tangki memiliki kapasitas 5.000 liter.
Towadeng menjelaskan bahwa upaya penyaluran ini menjangkau wilayah yang sangat luas, mulai dari pesisir hingga ke daerah-daerah daratan yang sebelumnya tidak pernah mengalami krisis air.
Ia menegaskan bahwa BPBD Maros berkomitmen untuk terus menyalurkan bantuan air bersih guna memastikan masyarakat yang kesulitan bisa mendapatkan akses air minum.
